One of my AssistU colleagues, Rob Neilly, recently launched an ebook called Making the Switch to Microsoft® Office 2007. As soon as I saw his notice on the AssistU community forum, I knew I wanted to buy it.
So, I bought a copy, saved it and promptly printed out a hard copy for later reading. After reading the ebook in one sitting, all I could think of was, “Rob, where was this ebook a year ago?!”
If I had this ebook when I was given my Dell laptop as a gift, it sure would have made the learning curve much easier and less time consuming!
In a nutshell, the ebook is fabulous. It is jam-packed with helpful information, there are screen shots of each program to illustrate his points and loaded with resources. He talks about everything from the concept behind Microsoft® Office 2007 to compatibility issues to all the new features now available. He even has a section in the appendix with tips for speeding up the learning curve!
My favorite parts of the ebook are the three page table outlining all the main new features of each Office program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the two page table outlining the commonly accessed commands. I definitely plan on keeping those handy.
On top of all this, the ebook is relatively short, well-written and more than worth the reasonable price of $9.95.
If you have, recently purchased, or plan to purchase Microsoft Office 2007 in the future, I would highly recommend getting this ebook. (Here’s the direct link to purchase Rob’s ebook.)

Hi Carol,
I want to thank you for giving a very positive shout out about my first eBook. I totally understand you on the timing issue, and should have got my butt in gear (at least) months ago. The need to write it arose from real questions I’d been asked many times. I’m quite thrilled you enjoyed it, and decided to write about it.
My next similar writing project will be a series of ‘how to’ eBooks, probably on using and maximixing each major piece of software in the Office suite.
Rob
Thank you for your comment, Rob. Good luck with your next eBooks. I look forward to reading them!
