Celebrating Independence

I want to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe 4th of July. As we enter into the holiday weekend, I am filled with deep gratitude for all the freedoms and blessings we have in our Country.

Yes, there is still a lot of injustice, prejudices and wrongdoing. Yes, there are a lot of issues to debate about, complain about and grieve over. Sometimes it’s scary to reflect on the direction our country may be heading in.

For today, I am going to choose to live in gratitude for all the freedoms and blessings I have. I am going to rejoice in my freedom of religion, my freedom of speech and my freedom to be who God created me to be. I am grateful for the gift of democracy and free enterprise. And, finally, am grateful for all our service men and woman who have fought (and continue to fight) for our freedoms.

I hope you take a moment this weekend to remember all the things you are grateful for about our country. We are all truly blessed!
