Entrepreneurs: Spending (+ No Implementation) = Chaos

This video by Erin Blaskie brings up some great points. It’s so easy to get sucked up and lost in all the information and gurus out there claiming to help you be a successful solopreneur. The truth is, if all you do is soak up a ton of information but don’t implement any of it, all that info will get you nowhere fast.

  • I agree with Erin *if* the people in the first model aren’t thoughtfully chosen for their input. Otherwise, they could all be put into one category–like on her own mind map, and the entire thing changes.

I disagree with always going to the same group, and Tony Robbins talked about this today in his keynote at the Twitter Conference. He said that in order to innovate, there are four things a company needs to do:

    1. Get around new voices
    2. Ask new questions/get into new conversations
    3. Get new perspectives (you can’t see/plan solely from your own world view)
    4. Get new passions and experiment

None of that suggests narrowing one’s world, but expanding it, exponentially.

  • That’s true and makes a lot of sense. I appreciate your input Stacy, thank you. :-)
