Hidden Gas Fees
I haven’t noticed this near me; but, apparently some gas stations are starting to charge those who use a credit or debit card a higher price for gas than those who pay cash. The price isn’t listed on the sign of course, but when you swipe your card the price changes on the pump. You can get the details here.
Like a lot of people, I usually use my debit card because it is more convenient. I almost always have my three year old with me and the thought of leaving him alone in the car while I go inside to pay doesn’t sit well with me. Neither does the idea of taking him in and out of his car seat (especially when he is in a cranky mood).
With gas at about $4.00 a gallon as it is, it doesn’t seem fair. I’m thinking of calling my local gas stations to see if they do this; however, if they aren’t I don’t want to put it into their minds!
What do you think about this? Do you pay by card or cash? Does paying a higher price for using a credit or debit card seem fair to you?

Hi-Yes, before I knew it, I was told that there is a higher price using my debit card; but, I didn’t have cash so I ended up paying 7 cents more/gallon.
This is the same gas station that a week prior didn’t do that.
So now, when getting gas, I make sure I have the cash!!!!!

I’m sorry that happened. Seven cents doesn’t seem like much, but it adds up!
I’m going to make sure I have cash from now on also.
