Yes, I mean that literally. I’m thankful I can walk. You see, I was born with a mild case of cerebral palsy which affects mainly my right side. Except for the fact that I walk with a limp, you’d never be able to tell. It’s not a degenerative condition, and usually, as long as I stretch, I’m usually good to go.
However, several years ago, something happened and I couldn’t walk for about 8 months. I got around using a scooter. I had to go to physical therapy several days a week. I was in constant pain.
It was a humbling experience; yet, it was a time of great growth for me, as well. I learn a lot about myself. I learned a lot about the goodness of others. I learned a lot about a lot of things.
So, yes. I’m grateful I can walk. I’m grateful I can move. I’m grateful that my body is capable of doing the things it needs to do.
